Does Alabama require an employment certificate for a minor?
The Department of Labor certificate table, revised January 1, 2024, lists a mandated employment certificate for a minor under 18, and for an 18 year old in a mine. An employer also needs a Child Labor Certificate from the state labor department to employ a worker under 18, and a 14 or 15 year old needs an Eligibility to Work form from school in Alabama.
