What should I check before I send money from the United States to another country?
This page covers an electronic transfer of more than 15 dollars from the United States to a person or company abroad, through a remittance transfer provider. Before you pay, the provider must show the fees and taxes it collects, the exchange rate, the amount expected to arrive, when the money should be available, and how to cancel or report an error. You can cancel within 30 minutes at no charge if the money has not already been picked up or deposited. You generally have 180 days from the stated date to report a mistake. Some firms that send few transfers are outside these federal rules. A transfer is not guaranteed. Confirm on the official page.
