When do classes start in Portugal for 2026?

The Portuguese government notice of 5 August 2026 says scientific-humanistic upper-secondary courses start on 21 September. The third cycle of basic education still starts between 11 and 15 September. The later upper-secondary start leaves time to finish marking the special September national exams before lessons begin.
