When are the school holidays for public schools in France?
The Ministry of National Education publishes the school calendar for each academy in France, with course periods, holidays, and public holidays. Metropolitan France uses three holiday zones, A, B, and C, so the holiday weeks are not the same everywhere. Zone A is the academies of Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon, and Poitiers. Zone B is Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Normandie, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, and Strasbourg. Zone C is Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse, and Versailles. Pupils leave after class on the stated day and return on the morning of the stated day.
