When are the school terms for public schools in Finland?
The education agency says a basic-school year has 190 working days, less a day when Independence Day, Epiphany, or May Day falls on a weekday other than Saturday. For 2026/27 that leaves 189 days, and schoolwork ends on Saturday 5 June. Municipalities publish the local start date and the holiday weeks.
