What are the official public holidays in the Netherlands?
The official public holidays in the Netherlands are New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, King's Day, Liberation Day, Ascension Day, Whit Sunday, Whit Monday, Christmas Day, and the day after Christmas. There is no law that makes those days a day off for employees. A collective agreement or an employment contract says whether you have the day off. If a payment deadline or a response deadline falls on a Saturday, a Sunday, or an official public holiday, it runs through the next day that is not a weekend or an official public holiday.
