What are the general holidays for federally regulated jobs in Canada?
An employee of a federally regulated employer in Canada gets a paid day off for New Year's Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. If New Year's Day, Canada Day, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, or Boxing Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday that is not a scheduled work day, the paid holiday is the scheduled work day just before or just after it. The Canada Labour Code does not ban work on a general holiday. A province sets the holidays for other workplaces.
