What does a dog, cat, or ferret need to enter Sweden from another European Union country?
Jordbruksverket says the animal needs a microchip, or a readable tattoo certified as made before 3 July 2011, and the chip must be in place before the rabies vaccination. The animal is at least 12 weeks old for the first vaccination, and you wait 21 days after that vaccination before travel. It also needs an EU pet passport from a veterinarian, and Sweden does not require a tapeworm treatment to enter.
