What does a dog, cat, or ferret need to enter Romania from another European Union country?
ANSVSA says the animal needs a microchip, or a readable tattoo made before 3 July 2011, and the identification comes before the rabies vaccine. The animal needs an EU pet passport from an authorised veterinarian that records a valid rabies vaccination. A first vaccination counts at least 21 days before the trip, and for most vaccines the animal is over 12 weeks.
