What does a dog, cat, or ferret need to enter Norway from another European Union country?
Mattilsynet says the animal needs an ISO microchip, or a readable tattoo made before 3 July 2011, a valid rabies vaccination, and a pet passport. The animal is at least 12 weeks old when the vaccine is given, and a first vaccination counts only after 21 days. A dog also needs an echinococcus treatment 24 to 120 hours before entry, and a cat or a ferret does not.
