What does a dog, cat, or ferret need to enter Hungary from another European Union country?
Nébih says the animal needs a microchip, or a readable tattoo made before 3 July 2011, a valid rabies vaccination, and an EU pet passport. The animal is at least 12 weeks old when the vaccine is given, the vaccine follows the chip, and a first vaccination counts only after 21 days. A young dog without a valid rabies vaccination may not be brought into Hungary.
