What does a dog, cat, or ferret need to enter Estonia from another European Union country?
The Agriculture and Food Board says the animal needs a microchip, or a readable tattoo made before 3 July 2011, a rabies vaccination that stays valid for the whole trip, and an EU pet passport. A first vaccination is given at 12 weeks or older, on or after the chip date, and it counts only after 21 days. An EU pet passport that the owner has not signed is not valid, and a dog does not need an echinococcus treatment to enter Estonia.
