What does a dog, cat, or ferret need to enter Switzerland from the European Union?

The BLV says entry from the European Union needs a microchip, a valid rabies vaccination, and a recognized pet passport. The first vaccination is possible from 12 weeks of age, counts only 21 days later, and must come after the chip. Dogs with cropped ears or a docked tail may not be imported.
