What does a cat or dog need to enter Australia?
Except from New Zealand or Norfolk Island, a cat or dog needs a valid import permit and a veterinary health certificate. An application does not by itself mean a permit is issued. An animal that arrives without the permit or the certificate can be exported or, in some cases, euthanised.
