What papers can a mortgage lender ask for in the United Kingdom?
MoneyHelper says a mortgage application can ask for a passport or driving licence, utility bills, and proof of benefits. It can also ask for a P60 from your employer, the last three months of payslips, and three to six months of current-account statements. If you are self-employed, it can ask for two to three years of accounts from an accountant, and a tax return form SA302 if you have more than one source of earnings. Add bank statements that support what the SA302 says about income. Proof of the deposit can be savings statements, or a completed form from the person who gave you money. Be accurate. Do not round a salary up if the payslips show a different figure. A printout of an online statement or utility bill might not be accepted. You may need a hard copy, or a copy certified by your solicitor, your bank, or the utility company. Some lenders ask for more. This page does not say a lender will approve the mortgage.
