What is the difference between freehold, condo, and leasehold in Canada?
CMHC says the common ways to own a home vary a little by province. A freehold means you own the building and the land it rests on. You pay for the upkeep, and you have the use of the land and the building, subject to Crown rights, local bylaws, and other limits in place when you buy.
