What extra monthly fee can a condo or a house with an association add in the United States?
Condo, co-op, and homeowners association dues are usually paid to the association, not to the mortgage company. A condominium, a co-op, or some neighborhoods require you to join and pay. The CFPB says those dues can range from a few hundred dollars a month to more than one thousand dollars a month. A house still has this fee when the neighborhood has an association. Count the fee when you compare homes. This page does not say which home to buy.
