What should I check on my credit report before I apply for a mortgage in Canada?
A lender looks at your credit report before it approves a mortgage. The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada says to order your own report before you start shopping, and to check it for errors. If the score is not strong, the lender may refuse the mortgage or ask someone to co-sign.
