What meal break does state law require for adult workers in Illinois?
Illinois requires at least 20 minutes for a meal, no later than 5 hours after work starts, for employees who work 7.5 continuous hours or more. A hotel room attendant who works at least 7 hours gets a 30-minute meal period, in a county with a population over 3 million.
