What is long service payment in Hong Kong?
Long service payment is for an employee who has worked at least five years under a continuous contract and is dismissed for a reason other than serious misconduct or redundancy, or who dies, resigns because of ill health, or resigns at the age of 65 or above. A fixed term that is not renewed can also count, on the conditions the guide sets. It is not paid together with severance payment, and the guide sets the formula and a maximum.
