What interest applies if I pay federal tax late in Switzerland?
The federal finance department says that from 1 January 2026 the late-payment interest and the repayment interest on federal taxes in Switzerland are generally 4 percent. Interest on a voluntary advance payment of direct federal tax is 0 percent. The rates are checked each year against the interest level.
