What is the published limit for sending money from India?
Under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme, a resident individual, including a minor, may remit up to 250,000 US dollars in a financial year, from April to March, for a permissible current or capital account transaction, or both. The scheme is not available to companies, partnership firms, Hindu undivided families, or trusts. A Permanent Account Number is required for these remittances through an authorised person. There is no cap on how often you send, but the yearly total is capped. The page lists purposes that are not allowed. The FAQ says the Act and the rules govern the transaction. A transfer is not guaranteed. Confirm on the official page.
