What should I do if I cannot keep up with a loan in Italy?
The Bank of Italy says that for a mortgage and for consumer credit, the lender has a duty to help a borrower who is struggling to pay. If the debts are no longer sustainable, the law offers procedures, and an independent expert helps in those procedures. You start that path at the nearest over-indebtedness body, which appoints the expert.
