How do I forward my mail when I move in the US in the United States?
USPS Change of Address can forward much of your mail to a new address for a limited time (often up to 12 months for a permanent move for many First-Class items). Online, USPS charges an identity-verification fee of id="content".25 to confirm it is you. That is not a separate forwarding charge. You can also start a change of address in person at a Post Office with photo ID (often with no fee). Always use the official USPS site. Lookalike sites may charge much more. Forwarding does not update banks or government agencies for you.
