What happens if I apply for several credit cards at the same time in France?
Before it grants credit, a lender generally checks the FICP, the national file of repayment incidents, which the Banque de France keeps. That file records payment incidents. It does not record each card application, and it does not publish a score. A lender may also check the central cheque file. Several applications do not appear there as a list of inquiries.
