What minimum age does Maine set for farm work?
The Department of Labor agricultural child labor table, revised December 10, 2025, lists a minimum age of 16, unless the school superintendent excuses the minor during school hours in Maine. Outside school hours it lists under 14 for planting, cultivating, or harvesting that is not in direct contact with hazardous machinery or substances.
