What does the deposit guarantee cover in Spain?
The deposit guarantee fund covers cash deposits where the bank promises to return the whole capital, such as a current account, a savings book, or a fixed-term deposit. The ordinary cover is 100,000 euros per holder and per bank. Some one-off payments received in the previous three months, such as a home sale, a redundancy payment, or a death payment, can be covered in full for those three months.
