What is the acquisition price of shares I bought in France?
The tax office says the gain or loss is the sale price, after the fees and taxes you paid, minus the price you paid to buy or subscribe for the shares. The acquisition price is the price you paid, or the value used for gift or inheritance tax if the shares were given to you. You can add brokerage, commissions, expert fees, registration duty, deed costs, and gift transfer tax. If you took the tax reduction for putting money into the capital of a small or medium company, you reduce the acquisition price by that reduction. This page does not work out your tax.
