What is the cost of free shares when they become mine in France?
The tax office says the acquisition gain on free shares equals their value on the day they are definitively acquired. That gain is taxed in the year you sell the shares. A later gain is the sale price minus the real value on the day of that acquisition. The rate depends on when the shares were granted. This page does not work out your tax.
