What hours can a 16 or 17 year old work in New York?
The Department of Labor child labor table, revised July 15, 2025, lists 8 hours a day, 48 hours a week, and 6 days when the minor is not in the school-week limit. While school is in session and the minor is enrolled, the table lists 4 hours before a school day, 8 hours on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday, and 28 hours a week for a 16 or 17 year old in New York.
