How do you dispose of used household batteries in the United States?
Waste batteries can be recycled or taken to a household hazardous waste collection point. In most communities, alkaline and zinc carbon batteries can go in the household trash, and the Environmental Protection Agency still recommends a recycler or the local solid waste authority.
