What is PACE in the United States?
Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly is a Medicare and Medicaid program in some states. It coordinates care so an older adult who needs nursing-home-level care can stay in the community. The page says a person can join when four things are true. They are at least 55. They live in a PACE service area. The state certifies a nursing-home level of care. They can live safely in the community with help from PACE. If they have Medicaid, they will not pay a monthly premium for PACE. If they have Medicare and do not have Medicaid, they pay a monthly premium for the long-term care part and a premium for Part D drugs. If they have neither, they can pay the PACE premium themselves. There is no deductible or copay for a drug, service, or care the PACE team approves. Joining a separate Medicare drug plan removes them from PACE. A place is not guaranteed. This page does not list papers. Confirm on the official page.
