What does social security pay for a non-work illness in Thailand?
The Social Security Office says a non-work illness or injury needs at least three months of contributions inside the 15 months before the month of care. Care at the hospital the office assigns does not cost the insured person. If a doctor orders rest, income replacement is 50 percent of the wage used for contributions, for not more than 90 days at a time and 180 days in a year, or 365 days in a year for a chronic illness.
