What car insurance must I have in Sweden?
The Swedish Transport Agency says every motor vehicle used in traffic must have traffic insurance. The registered owner takes it out from the day the vehicle is put in traffic, or at once if it is already in traffic. You do not need it while the vehicle is taken out of traffic. It pays personal injury to people hurt in an accident with that vehicle, including the driver and passengers. If your vehicle causes a collision, it pays property damage to the other party. It does not pay for damage to your own vehicle. With only this insurance, it does not pay for vandalism, fire, or theft. You can take other vehicle insurance, such as full or half cover.
