What is the employment injury scheme in Malaysia?
PERKESO says the employment injury scheme protects an employee against an accident or an occupational disease arising out of and in the course of the job, including a commuting accident on the route between home and work. Temporary disablement benefit is paid for doctor-certified medical leave of at least four days, including the day of the accident, and it is not paid for a day the employee works and earns wages. The published daily rate is 80 percent of the employee's average assumed daily wage.
