What is employment insurance in Malaysia?
PERKESO says the employment insurance system replaces income for an insured person who has lost their job, and that person also gets help from an employment services officer. The request has to be made within 60 days of the loss of employment, and the person must meet the published contribution conditions. The job search allowance is paid for 3 to 6 months depending on those conditions, and the person enrolls with MYFutureJobs as part of the job search.
