What is parental leave pay in South Korea?
Employment24 says parental leave pay is paid for leave a worker uses to care for a child aged eight or under, or in the second grade of primary school or below, and the leave covered can run up to one year and six months. For the ordinary case, the first three months are the usual wage up to 2.5 million won a month, months four to six are the usual wage up to 2 million won a month, and later months are 80 percent of the usual wage up to 1.6 million won a month. The insured period must be at least 180 days before the leave starts, the leave for that child must be at least 30 days, and the request can be made from one month after the leave starts until 12 months after it ends.
