What is the old-age pension in South Korea?
The National Pension Service says the old-age pension is paid every month for life when the contribution period is at least ten years and the person has reached the start age for their year of birth. On that page, a person born in 1969 or later starts at 65, and a person born from 1961 through 1964 starts at 63, with earlier birth years starting younger. The claim has to be made within five years of the right arising, and the page says the payment then covers the most recent five years plus the monthly amount after that.
