What do I do after a car accident in Italy?
Article 189 of the highway code says that a road user whose behaviour is connected to a crash must stop and give the help that anyone hurt needs. The people involved take steps to keep traffic safe and, as far as that allows, they do not change the scene or scatter the traces. If only property is damaged, they avoid blocking traffic when they can. Drivers give their details, and other useful information, to the people who were harmed. If those people are not there, they get that information to them in the ways they can. If a pet, a farm animal, or a protected animal is hurt, they stop and get help to the animal.
