What is the food ration under the National Food Security Act in India?
The National Food Security Act page says the Act covers up to 75 percent of people in rural areas and 50 percent of people in urban areas for subsidized foodgrains. An Antyodaya household is set at 35 kilograms of foodgrains per family per month, and a priority household is set at 5 kilograms per person per month. The eldest woman in the household who is 18 or older is the head for the ration card, and the state identifies the households and issues the card.
