How do I change the registered owner of a car in Ireland?
Citizens Information says that if you sell a vehicle, or trade it in, you must register the change of ownership. You cannot tax it in the new owner's name until that change is registered. There is no charge for registering the change. Do not drive it until the registration is confirmed and the motor tax is paid.
