What is sickness allowance in Hong Kong?
Sickness allowance is for an employee under a continuous contract whose sick leave lasts at least four consecutive days, who has enough accumulated paid sickness days, and who has a medical certificate. Paid sickness days build up at two days for each completed month in the first 12 months, then four days a month, and the total cannot pass 120 days at any one time. The daily rate is four-fifths of average daily wages.
