What is General unemployment support in Finland?
It replaced the labour market subsidy and the basic unemployment allowance from 1 May 2026. It is for ages 18 to 64 who live permanently in Finland, and who have no right to an earnings-related allowance, or whose earnings-related period has ended. Before you apply, register as a jobseeker with the employment service of your home municipality on Työmarkkinatori. You apply in OmaKela, or on form YE 1 if you are not using OmaKela. A claim can be backdated by at most 3 months. The page prints the daily amount. A payment is not guaranteed. Confirm on the official page.
