What is Parental allowance in Finland?
It is for a parent caring for a child under 2, or an adopted child placed in their care less than 2 years ago, while they stay off work, or while they are unemployed, a student, or a pensioner. For one child the page says 320 working days in total. If the child has two parents, each has 160 working days, and a parent can turn over at most 63 of those days. You can use the days until the child turns 2. Each person sends their own application in OmaKela, or on form SV 15. If your employer pays wages for the leave, Kela pays the allowance to the employer, and the employer must send their own application. A payment is not guaranteed. Confirm on the official page.
