What is temporary incapacity pay in Spain?
The Seguridad Social says temporary incapacity is a daily subsidy that covers lost earnings when a worker cannot work because of common illness, a non-work accident, an occupational disease, or a work accident, and is receiving health care. Common illness requires the person to be registered and to have 180 days of contributions in the previous five years, while an accident or an occupational disease does not require earlier contributions. For common illness the subsidy is paid from the fourth day of leave, and from that day through the fifteenth day the employer pays it.
