The ecological transition ministry says the thermal social voucher is a direct yearly help for a vulnerable consumer, for energy used for heating, hot water, or cooking, and it is separate from the electricity social discount. The amount depends on the climate zone of the home, how vulnerable the household is classed, and any extra the region adds. Unlike the electricity discount, the person can refuse this help.
