What is unemployment benefit in Switzerland?
arbeit.swiss says unemployment benefit is for employees, almost the whole employed population in Switzerland is compulsorily insured, and self-employed people are not insured. The right depends on being wholly or partly unemployed and registered for job placement, a loss of at least two days of work and of earnings, living in Switzerland, having finished compulsory school, and not yet having reached the AHV reference age. Inside the two years before registration the person must show at least 12 months of contribution time, unless that page lists an exemption.
