What is the death pension in Brazil?
The INSS says the death pension is for dependants who prove that the deceased had insured status on the date of death. A spouse or partner must prove the marriage or the stable union on that date, and a child must be under 21 unless the child is invalid or has a disability, in which case the age is not limited. Parents must prove they are the parents and that they depended economically, and a sibling must prove economic dependence and be under 21, with the same exception when the sibling is invalid or has a disability.
