What is the permanent incapacity pension in Brazil?
The INSS says the permanent incapacity pension is for an insured person who is permanently unable to do any work and who cannot be rehabilitated into another occupation that would support them, according to the federal medical exam. It is paid while the incapacity lasts, and the person can be called back for a review every two years. Someone who joined already having the disease or the injury does not receive it, unless the incapacity comes from that illness getting worse, and the request is made on Meu INSS under a benefit for permanent incapacity.
