What is work-incapacity pay in Belgium?
INAMI says an employee or a jobseeker in Belgium is recognised as unable to work when they have stopped all activity for health reasons and are unable to work at least 66 percent compared with the last job and the jobs their training would allow. In the first six months that comparison is with the last job when the doctor expects that recovery is likely. After the first year the period is called invalidity, and the Medical Council for Invalidity can extend the recognition or end it.
